Folks from Home

I'm in my new area at the most south-eastern part of our mission. I even cover the south-east sector of the ward I'm in. This area is incredibly flat and the wind blows non-stop. This is going to be my very first area where I'll use my bike. The ward here is good and the bishop is awesome (probably because he's from Bellevue).

We have a lot of investigators to work with and we had 6 nonmembers at church yesterday! I knew a little about my companion before I got here but not much, he's a little red-head guy. It's pretty relaxed here, but I have my first district leader here and my first zone leader. There is a sister from Puyallup here by the name of Bowman and I've met a woman from Brasil as well as a family from Camano Island.

I'm super excited for this area and this couple months. I'll be celebrating my year mark tomorrow and I don't know what I'll be doing for that.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weather, because I'm not.
Love,

Elder Willard

Moving Out!

We have had a pretty good week here. One of our investigators moved out of her boyfriend’s house so now she can be baptized but I found out Saturday that I will be transferred. I said goodbye to a couple members and I’m already packed. Sometimes it feels like time flew by; other times I feel like I’ve been here forever. Oh well, I’m almost halfway! I still haven't used my bike very much so maybe I’ll go full bike over the summer. Fingers crossed!

Hope everyone is doing well,

Elder Willard

Mother's Day Weekend

Well there's another week gone. It was a pretty awesome one, I'll admit. It's really cool to find, teach, and baptize someone; to see the change all the way through and the difference in countenance.

It was awesome to see everybody yesterday. Sorry I couldn't talk for very long, but it was good to see you all again. In case you didn't hear, I love all of you and I'm excited to see you in a little bit. A year isn't very long and in the meantime I hope we'll both be doing solid missionary work.

Love,

Elder Willard

Temple Dedication

We had an excellent week. Temple dedication and many people being taught. There was some excellent rain that was very reminiscent of Washington and my district leader is elder Sam Jacobsen from the Marysville stake.

I'm looking forward to Skyping on Sunday. I'll probably end up doing it from the iPad around 6 or so, it kind of depends on if a member offers us dinner.

This Saturday will be the culmination of a lot of work. Our long time part-member is finally getting baptized and I have a feeling I'll be the one doing it though I could be totally mistaken. Hopefully our elder’s quorum president will be able to do it. We'll be doing service near a small lake earlier in the day and our investigator will be there as well. We hope to be teaching most of this week and avoiding the heat.

This is going to be the best week of my mission!

Hope everyone is well,

Elder Willard
